To create outstanding professionals to serve the society through value based education in the field of civil engineering.

Mission

To impart knowledge and skill based education in collaboration with industry, academia and research organizations in construction sectors.

To promote moral and professional ethics by implementing good construction practices. To nurture professionalism among young engineers to serve the need of society and industry through infrastructure development.

About Department

The Department offers a four-year course leading to the Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering and two-year courses leading to Master’s degree in Two major specialisations of civil engineering (viz.,  Structural Engineering and Construction & Management). In total there are 376 students pursuing Bachelors degree and 81 students pursuing Masters Degree in the department. These programmes are supported with strong Master’s degree programmes in all the specialisations. There are currently 3 Associate Professors, 19 Assistant Professors working in the department.

The Department is known for its internationally reputed faculty having expertise in diverse fields. It has built up a wide research potential. The research programmes of the department are funded by various agencies such as Savitribai Phule Pune University(SPPU)

The faculty of the department imparting the latest technical knowledge to the students and conducting high quality of research.

 

Programme specific outcomes (PSOs)

The students will be able to analyze and design the various civil engineering structures with the use of latest software’s which will enhance the employ ability. 

The students will develop the entrepreneur qualities which will meet the Industrial needs.

Exhibit professionalism, ethical approach, communication skills, team work in their profession and adapt to modern trends by engaging in lifelong learning.

Programme Outcomes (POs) 

An ability to design and conduct experiments, as well as to analyze and interpret data related to Structural, Geotechnical, Transportation, Environmental, and Water Resources Engineering.

 

An facility to design a system to meet desired needs within realistic constraints such as economic, environmental, social, political, ethical, health and safety, and sustainability.

 

An ability to function on multidisciplinary teams in construction related activities such as Automobile, Computer, and Mechanical Engineering.

 

Acquire broad education necessary to understand the impact of engineering solutions in a global, economic, environmental, and societal context.

 

A knowledge of contemporary issues related to civil engineering practice.
